Congratulations to Mr Douglass – he will become our new headteacher when Mrs Dale retires at the end of the Summer Term!

Headteacher’s Welcome

On behalf of everyone, children, staff and governors, I would like to welcome you to Sandal Primary School and Nursery. I hope that our website gives you a ‘feel’ for the life and work at our energetic and vibrant school and for the caring and friendly atmosphere I know you will find here.

Children, with our motto, ‘Nurture Grow Succeed’, are at the heart of everything we do. We nurture them to become the very best that they can be, laying the groundwork for them to become the leaders of tomorrow by promoting educational excellence, character development and service to communities. We supplement their natural curiosity with engaging and enjoyable learning experiences and we work hard to instill our Roots for Learning – Aiming High, Working Together, Keeping on Going, Looking Back, Thinking for Myself and Daring to be Different – so that our children become well-rounded young citizens with a sense of pride in their accomplishments.

We have a highly committed, friendly team of staff who care deeply about the children at Sandal and often ‘go the extra mile.’ We work together as a team to provide a creative curriculum to promote high academic standards which will enable children to succeed at secondary school and beyond.

We firmly believe that education is a partnership with parents and, when your child comes into Sandal with a wealth of knowledge, we aim to build on this to develop the skills for lifelong learning. Children learn most effectively when home and school work together, so when your child joins Sandal, our job begins and yours continues.
