In the Autumn we worked with ‘Baildon Friends of the Earth’ and planted a fruit tree as part of a community orchard created on the corner of Green Lane, Baildon.
We have also worked closely with the ‘Baildon Fairtrade Group’ and launched a whole school competition to design a footstep template for the ‘Take a step for fairtrade 2011’ promotion. We got over 200 entries and the winners from each Keystage each won a gorgeous fairtrade easter egg.
In March we joined up with the other Baildon schools and Titus Salt School for the presentation evening ‘Baildon goes Green’ at Glenaire Primary. We showcased what Sandal School has done to help tackle climate change. Our 6 presenters from Years 4,5 and 6 were very professional and enjoyed participating.
